Ruinart Champagne Ice Bucket
A Ruinart Champagne ice bucket from France, issued as promotional barware by one of the oldest Champagne houses, founded in Reims in 1729. The Ruinart Champagne ice bucket was standard equipment in French hotel dining rooms and brasseries from the mid-twentieth century onward, and surviving examples in this condition are increasingly sought by collectors of vintage wine and spirits accessories.
The body is formed in polished chrome-plated metal with a classic flared rim and a gently tapering waist above a beaded foot ring. Two ring handles in aged brass are mounted on opposing sides via round ball-topped posts, showing the natural patina of use. The Ruinart crest and logotype are applied directly to the exterior in black and silver, clearly legible and intact. The exterior surface carries light surface scratches consistent with age and prior use, visible particularly on the upper body and around the handles. The interior shows water residue staining and oxidation marks at the base, consistent with regular service use. No dents, no cracks, no structural damage observed.
The bucket measures approximately 21cm tall / 8.3" with a rim diameter of approximately 20cm / 7.9" and a base diameter of approximately 12cm / 4.7", as indicated by the seller and estimated from photos. These dimensions accommodate a standard Champagne bottle comfortably.
Well-suited as a bar accessory, a branded collectible, or a display piece for Champagne and wine enthusiasts. The combination of chromed metal and brass hardware gives it a mid-century French brasserie character that works well in both traditional and contemporary interiors.
