Vintage French Educational School Map Oceania Pacific Poster 20082616

French School Map Oceania Pacific

Produced by Nalliers (Vienne), a well-known French publisher of pedagogical wall charts, this double-sided French school map Oceania Pacific was designed for classroom use during the mid-20th century. One side presents a political map (Oceanie Politique) showing colonial territories, capital cities, and territorial boundaries across the Pacific, while the reverse displays a physical and commercial map (Oceanie Physique - Commerce) with topographic shading, trade routes, and export commodities.

The political side uses a clear color-coded system to distinguish colonial powers: Great Britain, France, the Netherlands, the United States (Trust), and Portugal are each assigned a distinct tint. Key cities including Tokyo, Canton, Singapore, Djakarta, Sydney, Melbourne, and Honolulu are marked with population-graded symbols. The physical reverse shows relief shading in brown tones indicating elevation bands, blue coastlines, and annotated trade arrows indicating exports such as wool, meat, butter, copra, vanilla, and nickel. The legend identifies principal ports in blue. Text and labels are entirely in French, consistent with French metropolitan school curriculum materials of the post-war era.

The poster measures approximately 90cm x 75cm / 35.4" x 29.5". The paper shows light age toning consistent with storage and classroom use, with minor surface wear. No significant tears or losses are observed in the photos.

A practical decorative piece for mid-century interior settings, geography enthusiasts, or collectors of French colonial-era cartography. The dual-sided format and Nalliers publisher imprint make it a documented reference item within French educational ephemera.
