French Copper Bowl
This authentic French copper bowl represents the traditional "cul de poule" style crafted by Dehillerin of Paris, a prestigious manufacturer of professional French cookware established in 1820. The hemispherical form showcases centuries of French culinary craftsmanship and professional kitchen heritage.
The bowl displays the characteristic warm copper patina with natural aging and darkening that develops through use and time. Two solid brass handles are expertly riveted to the copper body using traditional French metalworking techniques. The rolled rim creates a smooth pouring edge, while the interior retains its copper coloring with developed patina.
Measuring 25.5cm in diameter and 15cm in height (approximately 10" x 6"), this substantial piece shows normal vintage wear consistent with age and authentic use. Small marks and surface variations are present throughout, indicating its genuine vintage nature and functional history in French kitchens.
This piece serves as both a functional mixing vessel and a distinctive example of French metalwork tradition, suitable for collectors of vintage cookware or those appreciating traditional European kitchen implements.
