French Art Deco Mirror Metal Frame

A vintage French Art Deco mirror with metal frame, designed for wall hanging via a small copper-toned chain attached to the top edge. The piece dates to the mid-20th century and is consistent with French domestic accessories produced during the Art Deco and early modernist period. The French Art Deco mirror format -- rectangular with rounded corners and a slim chrome-finish metal border -- was widely produced for bedroom and hallway use.

The mirror glass is clear and functional, reflecting the surrounding geometric-patterned decor visible in the photos. The surface of the mirror shows age-related foxing and minor silvering loss toward the edges and lower section, consistent with a piece of this age. The metal frame has a chrome or nickel-plated finish with visible patina and minor surface wear at the corners. The back is lined with a deep crimson red fabric or leatherette material, embossed with a scrolling pattern, which has lifted at one corner and shows general wear and scuffing.
