A classic Veuve Clicquot champagne ice bucket in spun aluminium, made in France by Argit -- a respected mid-century French manufacturer whose name is stamped clearly on the base alongside the mention M.O.D. Menux and Made in France. Produced for restaurant and hotel service, these seau a champagne (champagne buckets) were a staple of French bistro and brasserie culture from the postwar decades onward, keeping a bottle properly chilled tableside while announcing the maison with quiet authority.

The bucket is turned from polished aluminium with a gently tapering cylindrical form, triple-groove detailing around the upper and lower body, and a pair of ring handles mounted on cast knobs -- the kind of sturdy, well-balanced hardware that survives decades of service. The front carries the iconic VCP shield badge in its original amber and orange colourway with black lettering reading Clicquot Champagne above the anchor monogram, and the Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin banner below in bold orange. Inside, an embossed shield motif echoes the brand on the interior floor -- a nice detail that speaks to the care put into these trade pieces. On a bar cart, a sideboard or a kitchen counter, it works equally well as a wine cooler or as a graphic display piece.
