French Vintage Pastis Carafe Gambetta

Produced as a promotional serving piece for the French anise-flavored soft drink brand Gambetta, this French vintage pastis carafe Gambetta is a good example of mid-20th-century French cafe advertising glassware. Gambetta "Sans Alcool" (without alcohol) was a non-alcoholic anisette syrup brand sold across France, and carafes like this one were supplied to bistros and brasseries for table service, allowing customers to dilute the syrup with water to taste.

The carafe is made from clear glass and features a classic decanter silhouette: a wide, rounded lower body that tapers into a narrow neck with a slightly flared rim. Printed directly onto the glass is the brand's distinctive green rectangular panel with the word "GAMBETTA" in bold golden yellow lettering outlined in red, rendered in an ornate period typeface. Below the panel, the words "SANS ALCOOL" appear in golden yellow. The branding wraps around the full circumference of the body, visible from multiple angles. The glass is clear and free of visible chips or cracks based on the photos provided.

The carafe measures approximately 17.5cm tall / 6.9", with a base diameter of approximately 9cm / 3.5" and a neck opening of approximately 4cm / 1.6". These dimensions are consistent with standard French bistro water carafes of the period.
