Veuve Clicquot Champagne Ice Bucket

A French bistro and restaurant classic, this Veuve Clicquot Champagne Ice Bucket was made in France for professional service use, most likely from the mid-20th century. The bucket carries the distinctive VCP shield logo of Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin, the Reims-based house founded in 1772, rendered here in the house's signature ochre and black colorway on a die-cut label applied to the front face. The base is stamped "MADE-IN-FRANCE" in embossed capital letters, confirming French manufacture.

The bucket is spun from aluminum, giving it a brushed silver-tone finish with the natural patina and light surface scratches consistent with decades of genuine use. Three incised horizontal bands run around the upper body, a detail typical of French cafe-ware of the 1950s and 1960s. Two ring handles are mounted on cast pivot lugs fixed to opposite sides of the rim, allowing the bucket to be carried or lifted with ease. The form is slightly tapered, wider at the top than the base, which is the standard profile for single-bottle champagne service coolers of this period. The label shows some light wear at the edges but remains fully legible and largely intact.

The bucket measures approximately 20cm in height / 7.9", with an opening diameter of approximately 19cm / 7.5" and a base diameter of approximately 15cm / 5.9". These dimensions are suited to a standard 75cl champagne bottle. The seller states a height of 20cm, which aligns with what is visible in the photos.
