French School Geography Map Poster

A double-sided French school geography map poster published by Editions Rossignol, Montmorillon (Vienne), one of France's leading producers of educational wall charts. One side presents the Jura region (N1), the other the Massif Central (N2). These Rossignol school posters were standard classroom fixtures across France from the 1950s through the 1980s, making this French school geography map poster a recognizable piece of mid-century French educational heritage.

Both sides are printed in full color using a hypsometric relief palette -- greens and yellows for lowlands, oranges and deep reds for higher elevations -- with blue river systems and bold black typography marking cities and regions. Red dot symbols scaled by population indicate major urban centers including Lyon, Dijon, Clermont-Ferrand, Mulhouse, Limoges and Geneva. Annotated in red throughout are regional economic activities: Vins, Fromages, Vaches, Sel, Horlogerie on the Jura side, and Caoutchouc, Porcelaine, Uranium, Moutons, Houille on the Massif Central side. Scale is 1/300,000 for the Jura map and 1/550,000 for the Massif Central. The poster shows age-consistent wear consistent with classroom use -- minor edge wear and a small crease visible at the lower margin -- but the printed surface remains clean and fully legible.

The poster measures approximately 90cm x 75cm (35.4" x 29.5"). It is printed on thick coated paper stock. No mounting hardware is present; the sheet is flat and suitable for framing.
