An antique French ironstone oval platter, glazed entirely in white and shaped in the classic French faience tradition. This French ironstone oval platter belongs to a long lineage of utilitarian yet well-crafted serving ware produced across French pottery regions during the 18th and 19th centuries, designed for daily use at the table.

The platter features a shaped rim with alternating concave and angular segments, creating a multi-sided outline typical of French rococo-influenced earthenware forms. A raised double-line molding runs parallel to the rim edge, adding definition to the border. The glaze is an opaque tin-based or lead white, applied evenly across both the upper face and the underside. The surface shows age-consistent marks including light darkening at the center, minor scuffs, and small dark specks embedded in the glaze — all consistent with genuine age and use. The underside reveals the raw foot ring and base, with some reddish-brown staining from age and kiln contact visible. No maker's mark or stamp is visible in the provided photos.
