French Horse Trophy

These authentic French horse trophy plaques commemorate equestrian competitions from the 1950s, awarded by prestigious French agricultural societies. The plaques represent France's rich heritage in horsemanship and rural competitions that celebrated breeding excellence in the post-war era.

Crafted in brass with red enamel centers, each oval plaque displays raised lettering identifying the awarding organizations. The first reads "Concours Hippique de Limoges 1956 Coupe de la Ville de Limoges 4e Prix" while the second shows "Societe Hippique Francaise Paris 1952 Grand Criterium Chevaux Francais 4e Prix". The brass construction shows traditional French metalworking techniques of the period.

Each plaque measures 13.5cm x 9.5cm (5.3" x 3.7") and displays natural patination consistent with their age of over 70 years. The brass surfaces show verdigris in places while the red enamel centers retain their original coloring. The pieces show authentic wear and aging appropriate to vintage French horse trophy awards from this era.

These plaques would appeal to collectors of equestrian memorabilia, French agricultural history, or vintage sporting awards. They represent documented examples of mid-20th century French hippique society recognition.
