French Enamelware Drip Coffee Pot

A two-part French enamelware drip coffee pot, a domestic brewing system widely used in French households from the mid-19th century through the early 20th century. The French enamelware drip coffee pot operates on a simple gravity-filter principle: hot water is poured into the upper chamber, passes through a metal mesh filter loaded with ground coffee, and drips into the lower pot below. Both chambers sit stacked and are held in place by a fitted rim, with a domed lid capping the upper section.

The enamel finish is white throughout, decorated with horizontal banding in golden amber and dark brown tones applied at regular intervals across both chambers, the lid, and the base. The banding pattern is consistent across all four sides as observed from multiple angles. The spout extends from the lower chamber in a classic curved form with a pinched tip, while each section carries its own side handle. The interior of the upper chamber retains its original metal mesh filter insert, visible in the disassembled photograph. The enamel shows age-appropriate wear including minor darkening at the rim joints and light surface spotting consistent with use and age. No chips or cracks are clearly visible in the photos.

Overall height assembled is approximately 30cm / 11.8 inches as stated by the seller. Width across the lower chamber at its widest point including the spout is estimated at approximately 22cm / 8.7 inches. The lower pot has a wide conical base tapering upward to the junction with the upper chamber.

A functional and visually coherent example of classic French kitchen enamelware, this coffee pot works equally well as a display piece on open kitchen shelving or as part of a collection of antique French domestic objects. The two-piece drip format is a specifically French tradition, distinct from Italian stovetop methods, and appeals to collectors focused on 19th and early 20th century French country kitchen antiques.
