A signed French still life oil painting depicting a fruit arrangement, this canvas carries the signature "Borgnis" in the lower left corner, painted in dark pigment directly onto the surface. The work belongs to the academic still life tradition that was widely practiced in France through the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The subject consists of peaches, plums, and what appear to be grapes, arranged on a flat surface alongside serrated green leaves. The paint application is confident and direct, with visible brushwork particularly in the foliage. The seller notes one visible retouching area, which can be observed in the upper left background zone of the canvas where the paint layer appears slightly different in texture and tone. The canvas surface shows general age-related wear consistent with a period piece, including surface dust accumulation and minor losses at the edges.

The canvas measures approximately 35cm x 27.5cm / 13.8" x 10.8". The wooden stretcher bars are original and show worm holes along the top edge, visible in the side-view photograph, consistent with considerable age.
