The maker's mark stamped on the reverse reads "Christofle" in a rectangular cartouche, accompanied by the number 6 in a square reserve and an oval hallmark -- markings consistent with Christofle's standard silver-plated production for hotel and domestic use. A model number, 20371, is also stamped separately on the base, allowing for potential pattern identification in Christofle archives.

The tray is oval in form with a gently raised rim and a stepped inner border, giving it the restrained, classic profile associated with French silver service of the late 19th and early 20th century.
