Produced by the celebrated French silversmith house Christofle, this Christofle champagne bucket was designed by Luc Lanel, the in-house designer who shaped the brand's Art Deco output from the 1920s through the 1940s. Lanel is best known for his work on the ocean liner Normandie (1935), and this piece reflects the same rigorous modernist sensibility that defined that commission. It is a classic example of French Art Deco metalwork at an institutional level.

The bucket is crafted in silverplate over a base metal body. The lower two-thirds of the exterior is worked with closely spaced horizontal ribbing, a hallmark of Lanel's machine-age vocabulary. The upper section transitions to a smooth, flared rim with a polished mirror finish. The two side handles are cast with the same horizontal stepped ribbing, consistent with the body's decorative treatment. The interior shows age-appropriate wear and some patchy discolouration visible at the base, consistent with age and use. The exterior retains strong plating overall with natural surface scratches from handling.

The bucket measures approximately 20.5cm tall (8.1 inches). The width across the handles is estimated at approximately 26cm (10.2 inches) based on proportional assessment from the photos. The opening diameter is estimated at approximately 19cm (7.5 inches).
