French Enamel Coffee Pot

A French enamel coffee pot dating from the late 19th to early 20th century, typical of the enamelware produced in France during that period for everyday domestic use. This French enamel coffee pot features the tall, tapered cylindrical form with a wide base and narrow neck that is characteristic of French cafetiere design from the Belle Epoque era.

The white enamel ground is decorated with transfer-printed and hand-finished floral motifs: a large pink cabbage rose with green foliage appears prominently on both the front and reverse, with additional pansies in purple and yellow visible on the front face. A cobalt blue band trims both the top rim and the base edge, and a matching blue line runs around the fitted domed lid. The knob finial shows wear to the enamel, exposing the dark metal beneath. The spout tip shows minor chipping consistent with age and use. Some scattered surface spotting and enamel loss is visible across the body, particularly at the handle attachment points and along the rim — all consistent with genuine age and honest wear.

The pot stands approximately 20cm tall (7.9"), measured to the top of the lid knob, with an estimated base diameter of approximately 11cm (4.3"). These dimensions are typical for a single-household coffee pot of the period.
