The Sarreguemines Jardiniere transferware bowl form was produced in multiple sizes and colorways, and the red-on-cream version is among the more sought-after by collectors.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe exterior is decorated in a rich crimson red transfer print on a cream earthenware body, featuring dense floral motifs including peonies, roses, wild roses and smaller botanical sprigs arranged across the curved body. A geometric diamond lattice band runs around the upper rim and the pedestal foot, framing the central floral scene. On either side, the bowl is fitted with a pair of scroll and acanthus leaf handles applied in relief, also decorated with the red transfer. The interior shows crazing throughout the glaze and considerable patina consistent with age and use, clearly visible in the photos. The outer glaze retains its shine in areas.
