Each small godet is wheel-formed in a dense, lightly speckled stoneware and finished with a smooth, milky white glaze inside and out, the rounded belly tapering to an unglazed flat foot. In French bistro and home cooking tradition, these individual cups hold a single snail in its butter and herb sauce while it goes into the oven, keeping each portion neat and piping hot on its way to the table.

The form is classically simple: a slightly asymmetric oval mouth that widens gently from a compact body, giving each cup a handsome, almost sculptural quality when grouped together. The interior glaze catches the light with a soft sheen, while the speckled body gives the set a warm, rustic character that sits equally well on a dinner table set for a formal French dinner or displayed as a cluster on an open kitchen shelf. With twenty-three pieces, the set works for a dinner party of up to eleven guests with a spare, or the extra cups invite creative use as individual salt cellars, condiment pots, or tiny candle holders for tapers.

Condition and patina consistent with age. Light scattered speckling in the glaze is characteristic of the material rather than damage; the unglazed bases show natural sandy bisque with minor surface marks from use and storage.

Each cup measures approximately 1.5 in wide x 1.2 in high (3.7 x 3 cm).

95% of my items are tariff-free to the US.
