One side presents vegetation zones and natural resources of West and Central Africa under the title "Centre Ouest de l'Afrique - Zones de Vegetation et Ressources" (map no. 21), while the reverse displays the political map of the same region (map no. 22). These Rossignol school charts were standard classroom fixtures in French schools from the 1950s through the 1970s.

The vegetation map uses a clear colour-coded legend distinguishing desert, steppe, savane, foret, grande culture and marecage zones. Red text labels indicate natural resources including arachides, cacao, caoutchouc, bauxite, fer, sel, cuivre, and moutons across the mapped territories. River systems including the Niger and Congo are drawn in blue. The political reverse names territories as they existed during the early post-independence period, including the Federation du Mali Soudanaise, Republique Voltaique, Republique du Dahomey, and Union des Republiques du Congo, placing this edition firmly in the early 1960s. Both sides include a small inset rainfall map and a scale of 1/6,000,000. The paper shows age-consistent toning and light creasing consistent with classroom use.

The poster measures approximately 90cm x 75cm / 35.4" x 29.5". It is printed on heavy coated paper stock typical of Rossignol productions of this period.

A historically specific document for collectors of cartography, Africana, or mid-century French school ephemera.
