The cream-toned body carries two gracefully scrolled side handles and a domed lid topped by an arched ceramic grip, all in one cohesive, well-balanced form that speaks to the confident craftsmanship of French provincial table culture.

The decoration is a classic green-on-cream transfer print: a full rose-basket bouquet anchors the front of the tureen and the top of the lid, while a continuous garland of smaller blooms traces the shoulder and lid rim. The imagery is detailed and graphically clean, printed in a soft sage-to-hunter green that pairs naturally with linen, oak and aged wood. Tureens of this form were the centerpiece of the French Sunday table for generations -- passed from hand to hand, lifted by those scroll handles, ladled from with ceremony. Today it works equally well as a decorative focal point on a kitchen shelf, a sideboard or a dining table set for a relaxed, farmhouse-style gathering.

Condition and patina consistent with age. The interior shows an extensive crazing network -- natural and expected in earthenware of this era -- with some accompanying light discoloration. The lid handle shows a fine hairline crack at one base, visible in the close-up photos.

Approx. 11.0 in wide x 7.9 in high (28 x 20 cm), measured with the handle.

95% of my items are tariff-free to the US.
